In September 2021 the MAC commissioned Dr Sean Whittle of St Mary's University to conduct an independent investigation into the quality of The Holy Spirit MAC as a Catholic Multi-Academy Company. Dr Whittle is a well known Catholic academic and he spent six days in the MAC during the Autumn Term 2021 interviewing pupils, staff, parents, governors and school leaders. He completed his report in February 2022.
